The piece is much more than a visual essay: it’s a critical and poetic journey between two of the great rivers of the Americas. Through maps, photographs, stories, and personal reflections, Brian invites us to listen to what the rivers have to say about ways of living, producing, and resisting along their banks.
This work connects the Paraná River in South America with the Mississippi in the North, drawing parallels between their ecological histories, territorial conflicts, and the communities that traverse and defend them. It is also a reflection on art and research as ways of accompanying the social and environmental processes unfolding in these territories.
